To make wildlife travel convenient during the approaching holiday season, the special AC 2×2 bus service from Kaiserbagh Bus Station, Lucknow, to Dudhwa National Park has now been extended for the entire month of November.
The service began as a pilot project on November 4 and was originally scheduled only for 15 days, but it will now continue till the end of the month to help more travellers experience Dudhwa’s natural beauty.

Launched by UPSRTC on the proposal of the Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board and supported by the Forest Department, the service offers an affordable and comfortable way to reach one of India’s richest wildlife habitats.
The bus departs from Kaiserbagh at 8:00 am and reaches Dudhwa National Park at 1:30 pm. The fare is only Rs 487 per passenger, making it suitable for school children, parents, wildlife enthusiasts, student groups, and travellers.
The Terai landscape of Dudhwa is home to tigers, rhinos, elephants, swamp deer, gharials, and more than 450 bird species. Its sal forests, wetlands, and grasslands make it one of the most intact natural habitats of India and a preferred retreat for families and young explorers.
A traveller, Ashutosh, from Lucknow, who took the service during the trial period, shared his experience. “I reached Dudhwa by early afternoon and explored the forest till evening. After resting overnight, I enjoyed another half day of exploration the next morning and returned to Lucknow. It is a very comfortable and convenient option for a quick wildlife trip.”
The special Vistadome Train Safari that resumed this month has also seen encouraging movement, with nearly 150 children, students, and nature lovers having already travelled in November so far. Together, these initiatives are helping travellers experience Uttar Pradesh’s ecological richness more closely.
UP Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, “Dudhwa is one of the few landscapes in India where travellers can witness the rare rhino and tiger combination in the same habitat. The rhino population has shown steady growth in recent years, and sightings continue to improve across the Terai belt. When children and families experience such biodiversity up close, it creates lasting awareness about conservation. Nearly 150 travellers have already enjoyed the Vistadome safari this month, and the extension of the AC bus service will help more people witness the natural richness that makes Dudhwa so unique.”
